To summarize what coaching has brought me, I must say that it has been a turning point in my journey of self-discovery. Getting to know and understand myself has led to a profound transformation in my life.
My First Encounter with Coaching
In 2020, when I was trying to understand the concept of coaching, I took a step to explore what this process meant for me. Initially, I assumed that coaching sessions were about analyzing life situations with a mentor and coming up with solutions. However, when I started the coaching sessions, I realized that coaching sessions were actually moments where the individual discovers, understands, and feels their own inner world.
Dreams, Goals, and Unexpected Challenges
Every person has many dreams since childhood, and many goals connected to these dreams. Some of us strive to build a life based on these dreams, while others try to build a life based on the guidance of those around them. Personally, one of my greatest passions has always been technology. I shaped my education and career path accordingly, and I continue to do so. However, life does not always go as planned. Unexpected situations arise, and I often wondered how to navigate them. During my coaching sessions, I found many answers to this question.
The Power of Self-Awareness
First and foremost, I needed to truly know myself. What are my values? What are my red lines? What defines me? Am I at peace with myself, or am I constantly in conflict with my inner world? Through coaching, my self-awareness and self-respect grew. I acknowledged my strengths and weaknesses. While I am not very outgoing or a great speaker, my curiosity and attention to detail became my hidden strengths. Understanding this made me value myself more.
Rediscovering the Power of Questions
One of the most beautiful habits we lose as we grow up is asking questions. Perhaps we never completely stop, but we certainly do it less than children. Coaching reminded me of the importance of questioning—both myself and the world around me. I realized that my introverted nature led me to overthink and misinterpret situations. Instead of making assumptions, I learned that asking clarifying questions reduced my stress and improved my understanding. Asking myself the right questions, just like my coach did, helped me navigate challenges with greater ease.
A Turning Point in My Self-Discovery Journey
To summarize what coaching has brought me, I must say that it was a turning point in my journey of self-discovery. Getting to know myself better and understanding my inner world led to a deep transformation. I gained self-awareness, embraced the power of questions, and learned that personal growth is a continuous journey. Every day, I discover something new about myself and others, and this excitement gives me hope for the future.
